De acuerdo con algunos autores, el realismo de Popper está plagado de incoherencias sobre todo debido a su compromiso con la teoría correspondentista de la verdad y al hecho de que en su teoría de la ciencia se admite que si bien el fin general de la ciencia es la búsqueda de la verdad, puede ocurrir que una teoría específica alcance esa meta sin que podamos establecerlo así. En este artículo explico brevemente las particularidades del realismo de Popper, su posición sobre la verdad como ideal regulativo de la ciencia y muestro que a pesar de la imposibilidad de establecer de manera contundente que se ha obtenido la verdad, no hay ninguna incoherencia que ponga en entredicho su proyecto. De esta manera respondo a las críticas de árdenas y otros contra el realismo de Popper y su concepción sobre el fin general de la ciencia e identifico las fuentes de donde proviene esta clase de malos entendidos. |

De esta manera respondo a las críticas de árdenas y otros contra el realismo de Popper y su concepción sobre el fin general de la ciencia e identifico las fuentes de donde proviene esta clase de malos entendidos.According to some authors, Popper’s realism is blatantly incoherent mainly because of his commitment with the correspondence theory of truth and due to the fact that in his theory of cience is granted that, though the general aim of science is the search for truth, it might happen that a specific theory reaches that aim without us being able of knowing it. In this paper, I explain, briefly, the particularities of Popper’s realism, his views on truth as a regulative ideal for science, and I show that, regardless the impossibility of establishing in a efinitive way that truth has been reached, there is no incoherence that endangers his project.
