Summary:This article presents the conceptual and pedagogical elaborations of the project Bogotá Ciudad Educadora (Bogotá  Educating City) carried out at the Instituto Pedagogico National (National Pedagogical Institute). The goal of this investigative and innovative project is to enable the students of the ninth  grade to generate an identity of a place anda city, starting from three fundamental components: conceptual, existential and  investigative. It approaches a city as a subjective space of a social and historical construction of great importance in the contemporary world, considering the fact that most of the world human population lives over there.
