It proposes the need to analyze and understand the social representations circulating in education, particularly those related to the student.Desde la importancia atribuida a la participación en el diseño e implementación de las políticas públicas, el presente artículo analiza el papel que se le asigna a los estudiantes en los modelos pedagógicos y su incidencia en las posibilidades de hacer realidad la formación de sujetos sociales. En la medida en que el contexto educativo muestra prácticas no compatibles con el reconocimiento del estudiante como sujeto, se propone la necesidad de analizar y comprender las representaciones sociales que circulan en el ámbito educativo, particularmente las relacionadas con el estudiante. A partir da ênfase na participação na concepção e implementação de políticas públicas, o presente trabalho analisa o papel que é atribuído a estudantes dos modelos pedagógicos e de seu impacto sobre as possibilidades de realizar a formação de sujeitos sociais na medida em que a realidade educacional mostra pratica incompatível com o reconhecimento de que o aluno como um sujeito.
