Description
Summary:This paper presents a qualitative action research study that proposed new strategies to develop environmental awareness and a sense of care for the environment while using English orally in a natural context. This study was conducted at the Instituto Pedagógico Nacional school located in Bogotá, Colombia with fourth grade students between the ages of 9 and 11 years old. During the pedagogical intervention, different activities were carried out outside the classroom where students were active and participatory agents in the discussion and creation of habits to take care of the environment. The information was collected through field notes, artifacts, recordings and interviews. To conclude, an analysis of the information was made describing the relationship found between nature-based learning and English as a foreign language skill.
