Description
Summary:This article presents the results of the application of a diagnostic assessment of cell reproduction in students of seventh, eighth and ninth grades of the schools Miguel Antonio Caro IED and Justo Víctor Charry IED. The use of these concepts is essential, so that students understand other important topics in biology such as genetics to understand the processes of transmission of hereditary information, the evolution of living beings from the variability, natural selection and the preservation of the species, and developmental biology to recognize mitosis as a process for the formation of a new living being from successive cell divisions, and others. This is a research work with a questionnaire with multiple-choice questions with one answer, accompanied by an interview. The analysis of results with respect to number of hits, success rates, response rates and selection skills developed, allowing to identify the conceptual bases and / or students facing difficulties understanding and learning concepts with cell reproduction, and shortcomings in the development of competencies in natural sciences that allow students to learn and act in relation to their environment. Likewise, planning and design of a teaching-learning –evaluation strategy, which takes into account the characteristics and needs of the students to which it is addressed is suggested, and decide on the contents to be included.
