El estudio involucró la implementación del componente didáctico para promover el reconocimiento de su importancia biológica en estudiantes de básica primaria. Dentro de los hallazgos se identificaron dos especies de aves rapaces nocturnas: el búho currucutú común (Megascops choliba) y la lechuza común o campanario (Tyto alba), con una abundancia relativa de 12 individuos y 10 individuos, respectivamente. También, se destacan los cambios de percepción de los estudiantes, en relación con creencias y supersticiones sobre este tipo de especies, lo cual favorece el reconocimiento del papel biológico en el ecosistema y la necesidad de su conservación.This research characterizes the nocturnal birds of prey on the campus of Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC; in English, Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia), in addition to the contribution to the study of its popularity, with students in fifth grade from two educational institutions, one, of the urban context, and other, of the rural context. The study involved the implementation of the didactic component to promote recognition of their biological significance in elementary school students. Among the findings two species of nocturnal birds of prey were identified: common currucutú owl (Tropical Screech Owl, Megascops choliba) and the barn owl (Tyto alba), with a relative abundance of 12 individuals and 10 individuals, respectively.
