Description
Summary:The present document is about a pedagogical proposal, which consists in improving 10th graders listening comprehension through vodcasts within an intercultural environment. Thus, this proposal was developed taking into account Colombia’s national government educational policies aimed at enhancing students’ English competences and intercultural awareness. On the other hand, this proposal was based on a well-founded theory in order to design an appropriate audiovisual instrument (the vodcasts), whose implementation with the 10th graders of a public school in Bogotá with a very low English level produced some important preliminary findings. Likewise, it is important to mention that the implementation of this proposal was entirely remote (online) due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which represented a huge challenge. Additionally, this document suggests some recommendations to teachers when it comes to using vodcasts to improve learners’ listening comprehension and expand their intercultural awareness.
