It originates from an observation of the subliminal effects of social and political tensions in love and the pain that they entail, in romantic and platonic relationships. Given that, oftentimes it is those same tensions that cause damage in a relationship until it eventually explodes. As a result, the standardization of female success reflected in starring in a great love has led to the focus of romantic comedies being that the loser girl or woman who is single at the beginning of the film, no matter what and whatever the cost, stops being so by the end. And many times, in these films, alternate relationships, family and/or friendships, suffer in some way, but neither the protagonist nor the audience cares. But we do. We decided to start from the ¿Friends to Lovers¿ trope, a true classic, and flipped it on its head. In this trope, although there is fear of risking the friendship, the protagonists always end up together. In turn, we try telling a story where the promise of romantic love is not enough to risk platonic love, or at least, it is not a choice that¿s easily made by the characters. Because the institution of marriage, family and the patriarchy weigh down romance, while friendship, without saying that it can't be affected by paradigms and social constructs, carries itself with a little bit more lightness.Amar y Tirar es una carta de amor a la amistad. Nace de una observación de los efectos subliminales de las tensiones sociales y políticas en el amor y el dolor que conllevan, en las relaciones románticas y platónicas. Puesto que, muchas veces son esas mismas tensiones las que llevan una relación al límite hasta que explotan. A raíz de ello, la estandarización del éxito femenino reflejada en protagonizar un gran amor, ha llevado a que el foco en las comedias románticas sea que la perdedora que está soltera al inicio, pase lo que pase y cueste lo que cueste, deje de estarlo al final. Y muchas veces, en estas películas, el resto de relaciones, familiares y/o amistosas, sufren de alguna manera, pero ni a la protagonista ni al público le importa. A nosotras sí. Por eso, partimos del tropo ¿Friends to Lovers¿, donde, si bien existe el miedo a arriesgar la amistad, de igual manera, los protagonistas terminan juntos. Nosotras tratamos de darle la vuelta y ver la otra cara de la moneda, pues en nuestra historia, la promesa del amor romántico no es suficiente para arriesgar el amor platónico, o por lo menos, no es una decisión tan fácil.
