| Summary: | The objective of this research study is to propose the design of a formative sports program developed through gamification, aimed at enhancing the teaching–learning process of basketball in physical education classes for eighth- and ninth-grade students at Aspaen Corales Educational Institution in Barranquilla. This study emerges from the identification of low levels of participation and interest among students in school sports activities, mainly due to the lack of continuity in physical activity throughout the school year and the limited use of innovative teaching methodologies. Based on the analysis of the institutional context, the current regulatory framework, and a review of theoretical and empirical background, gamification is identified as an effective and innovative didactic strategy to promote motivation, engagement, and student participation. The research follows a descriptive and projective approach, guiding the design of an action plan that integrates game elements such as challenges, missions, points, and rewards to stimulate physical education classes and foster meaningful learning experiences. The proposed action plan is structured by stages and activities and includes a monitoring mechanism that supports the teaching of basketball in a playful and formative manner, aligning with Aspaen’s pedagogical guidelines, national educational policies, and the institutional needs. In conclusion, gamification represents an opportunity to improve educational practices by transforming traditional physical education and promoting students’ comprehensive development through engaging and motivating formative experiences. |
