El hilo conductor de este artículo es la relación intrínseca entre imagen y destino, cuya consecuencia fundamental radica, a mi juicio, en la concepción de persona humana como esse ad Deum, un ser cuya única explicación consiste en ser-para-Dios. Esta terminante verdad contenida en la noción veterotestamentaria de imago Dei, es objeto de particular atención, junto a dos de sus consecuencias implícitas: la irrestricta apertura al infinito y el carácter dialogal de la persona. Se expone la clásica distinción ireniana entre imagen-modelo e imagen-copia, con la que Pannenberg intenta mostrar que el destino del hombre ha hallado cumplimiento por anticipado en la encarnación de Dios en Jesucristo, y que constituye la clave de interpretación adecuada para enfocar dinámicamente la imagen divina en el hombre.For Pannenberg the image of God in man consists of his destiny with respect to communion with God. The theme of this article is the intrinsic relationship between image and destiny , the fundamental consequence of which lies, in my opinion, with the concept of the human person as esse ad Deum, a being whose only explanation consists of being-for-God. This categorical truth found in the Old Testament notion of imago Dei is the object of particular scrutiny in this work, together with two of its implicit consequences: an unrestricted opening up to the infinite and the dialogic nature of the person. The classic Irenian distinction between image-model and imagecopy is examined as well.
