La búsqueda se efectuó en las bases de datos MEDLINE, PUBMED, SCIENCE DIRECT, WEB OF KNOWLEDGE, OVID y CLINICALKEY. Se determinaron como términos primarios de búsqueda “Exercise”, “Attention”, “Children” y “Adolescent” y términos asociados “Physical Activity”, “Arousal”, “Focus”, “Kids”. Los criterios de inclusión fueron: ensayos clínicos cuyo foco de investigación fuera el efecto de la actividad física sobre la función atencional en niños y adolescentes publicados en idioma inglés, español y portugués. La búsqueda inicial arrojó 4969 artículos, posterior a la lectura de los abstract 51 documentos fueron preseleccionados excluyendo 28 artículos por ausencia de texto completo, cumplieron los criterios de inclusión 23 artículos.
