Sin embargo, para lograr todo lo anterior fue necesario realizar una investigación sobre las bases teóricas que sustentarán características, criterios e información relevante para poder llevar a cabo la elaboración del material; posteriormente se definieron las competencias de manejo emocional, comprensión emocional y empatía para el desarrollo del material, el cual integra actividades que permiten identificar las emociones (alegría, tristeza, enojo y miedo), reconocer las emociones de las partes del cuerpo a través de fichas, seleccionar acciones y/0 elementos que les ayuden a calmar alguna emoción e identificar las emociones de los demás por medio de cuentos. Estas estrategias fueron definidas a partir de las características y necesidades de los niños y las niñas. Finalmente, se realiza el pilotaje del ¿Emocubo¿ haciendo uso del instrumento de validación para reconocer e identificar los resultados a nivel de los puntos positivos, los puntos a mejorar y los ajustes que este requiere; identificando el ¿Emocubo¿ como un material didáctico que promueve el manejo de las emociones a través de las tres competencias mencionadas anteriormente.The taboos and stigmas that people with Down Syndrome in Colombia constantly live about the experience of their emotions were the starting point for the design, elaboration and piloting of the didactic material "Emocubo"; which aims to promote emotional management through different activities where children from 5 to 6 years old with Down syndrome can express and communicate their emotions without using formal language.
