METODOLOGIA: Búsqueda integradora bajo los criterios planteados por Ganong que incluyó revisiones de la literatura, estudios de caso y controles, estudios experimentales y guías clínicas basadas en la evidencia, en idioma inglés, español y portugués, con ventana de observación del año 2000 al 2016. RESULTADOS: Los estudios seleccionados se clasificaron por lugar, año, tipo de estudio, idioma, bases de datos consultadas, nivel de evidencia y recomendación según Oxford. Se categorizaron teniendo en cuenta el tipo de canal afectado en el VPPB, la especificación y el tratamiento utilizado de manera individual combinado. La literatura plantea el empleo de tratamiento farmacológico y no farmacológico de manera individual o combinado y sus efectos de estos, teniendo en cuenta el tiempo y los cambios que estos generan CONCLUSIÓN: Según los reportes de la literatura, tanto el ejercicio como la estimulación visual, tienen efecto positivo en el tratamiento del VPPB. La rehabilitación vestibular con ejercicio y estimulación visual ayuda a disminuir la sensación de mareo y aumenta la estabilidad. Sus efectos son visibles en los resultados de las pruebas Índice de discapacidad por Vértigo; Test de confianza en el balance; e índice dinámico de la marcha.
