Description
Summary:The author’s starting point in this article is the apparent division between modern and classic ideas in classic philosophy, the roots of that assumption and its convenience or inconvenience in humanities. To meet its objective, the author penetrates into the world of philosophy of law in an effort to use Machiavelli’s, Luther’s, Hobbes and Descartes’ written works to identify the roots of the modern paradigm, the fruit of which is in three relevant routes to the world of humanities. Once these are updated – the author saysmankind has but two paths: to deceive himself into believing that he has triumphed and progressed or to get pack on the path of true giants who for more than twenty centuries have developed a thought that continues having undisputable applicability: classic philosophy.
