Todos los autores que se han dedicado posteriormente a estas disciplinashan sufrido, de una u otra manera, la influencia de Hegel. E. H. Gombrich no ha escapado a esta influencia,pero su lectura de la Estética de Hegel ha tenido, en algunos puntos, el carácter crítico que se venía echando demenos en muchos autores modernos y contemporáneos. Gombrich rechazó así la preponderancia que Hegelatribuyó al espíritu de una determinada época, como si pudiera ser el artífice intelectual de la obra de arte, perosin duda reconoció la importancia de la peculiar interacción que el artista establece con su época, siendo éstauna prueba más de su genio creador, en la medida en que es capaz de asumirla.Hegel´s Lectures on Aesthetics has been a text of outstanding importance for the History of art and of culture. Every author has experienced and intense influence of Hegel, in dealing with both disciplines. The case of E.H. Gombrich is not different, even thou his approach to Hegel´s Aesthetics, in contrast with most other modern authors, has been mainly critic.
