Llevó a cabo un programa de fundamentación de la psiquiatría, la psicopatología (concretamente, la neurosis) y la caracteriología en la antropología católica, específicamente tomista. En este trabajo se exponen de manera breve sus principales ideas sobre la distinción entre persona y carácter, así como la relación entre carácter y valores, con el objetivo de actualizar su potencial relevancia para una crítica de la psicología actual, ajena a cualquier referencia metafísica.The Viennese psychiatrist Rudolf Allers has been virtually relegated to oblivion, despite being quite relevant in the past. He developed a founding program in psychiatry, that of psychopathology (specifically neurosis), and characterology in Catholic anthropology, specifically Thomist. The article briefly discusses Allers’s main ideas on the distinction between person and character, and the relationship between character and values.
