Resorting to an interdisciplinary methodology that combines contributions from anthropology, stylistics and literary pragmatics, the reflection attempts to underline the literary nature of of the peak story, which not only brings together the fundamental traits commonly accepted as literary ones of the peak genre, but also lends itself to the theories developed in recent decades within the framework of the aesthetics of the reception. Thus, the text is inserted in its enunciative context and certain sociological and axiological values typical of the Cameroonian Basaa socioculture are emphasized.Este artículo estudia una epopeya oral procedente de los Basaa de Camerún, transcrita, traducida al francés y anotada por primera vez en fechas recientes (2019). Recurriendo a una metodología interdisciplinar que combina aportes de la antropología, de la estilística y la pragmática literaria, la reflexión que se presenta en este texto intenta subrayar la literariedad del relato épico, el cual no solo reúne los rasgos fundamentales comúnmente admitidos como señas literarias del género épico, sino que, también, se presta a las teorías desarrolladas en las últimas décadas en el marco de las estéticas de la recepción. Se inserta así el texto en su contexto enunciativo y se enfatizan determinados valores sociológicos y axiológicos propios de la sociocultura Basaa de Camerún.Este ensaio estuda um épico oral da Basaa de Camarões transcrito, traduzido para o francês e anotado pela primeira vez recentemente (2019). Utilizando uma metodología interdisciplinar que combina contribuições da antropologia, estilística e pragmática literária, a réflexão sublinha a literariedade da história épica, que não só reúne as características fundamentais comumente admitidas como sinais literários do gênero épico, mas também se presta ás teorías desenvolvidas nas últimas décadas no ámbito da estética da recepção.
