The text addresses socio-economic aspects related to the city of Lima during the Early Republic (1821-1860). Through the sociodemographic study of the first district of the 1831 municipal census of Lima, a socio-spatial characterization was carried out during the third decade of the 19th century, a period of strong socio-economic instability, providing an insight into change through the diachronic analysis of the third neighbourhood between 1824 and 1831, that is, from a single basic administrative unit of the Lima statistical record. The results of both demonstrate that the new network of subordinates of the local administration of the Early Republic maintained the tradition of population counting during the late viceregal period with relative efficiency, in addition to generating records that corroborate the demographic and spatial trends observed in more comprehensive censuses during the same period. |

Lo que, a partir del estudio sociodemográfico del distrito primero del censo municipal de Lima de 1831, se realiza una caracterización socioespacial durante la tercera década del siglo XIX, un periodo de fuerte inestabilidad socioeconómica, que ofrece una imagen sobre el cambio a través del análisis diacrónico del barrio tercero entre 1824 y 1831. Es decir, de una sola unidad administrativa básica del registro estadístico limeño. Los resultados de ambos muestran que la nueva red de subalternos de la administración local de la República Temprana mantuvo la tradición de conteo poblacional, durante el periodo tardo virreinal con relativa eficiencia, además de generar registros que corroboran las tendencias demográficas y espaciales observadas en censos más completos durante el mismo periodo.Le texte aborde les aspects socio-économiques liés à la ville de Lima, au cours de la Première République (1821-1860) à partir de l’étude sociodémographique du premier district du recensement municipal de Lima de 1831. On effectue une caractérisation socio-spatiale au cours de la troisième décennie du XIXe siècle, période de forte instabilité socio-économique, qui offre une image du changement à travers de l’analyse de phénomènes diachroniques du troisième quartier entre 1824 et 1831, c’est-à-dire d’une seule unité administrative de base du registre statistique de Lima.
