Of the chronic noncommunicable diseases, the most prevalent in the country are those of the circulatory system, including heart failure. * We thank Professor Jhoanna Carolina Núñez Narváez for ceding her chapter of the book Cuidado CON-VER-GENTE: "Artesanías en Investigación" compiled by Galvis López, Milena Alexandra (Coord.) Tunja: Editorial UPTC, 2019.Las enfermedades crónicas tienen la particularidad que, al prevalecer durante toda la vida de las personas, son estas quienes desde el hogar deben encargarse de su manejo, partiendo del conocimiento que poseen, las indicaciones dadas por los profesionales de la salud, la disponibilidad de recursos, sus propias creencias y el apoyo social con el que cuentan, dejando así un amplio trabajo al personal de salud para abordar.
