Dichas lesiones tienen una recuperación complicada, que no sucede por si misma necesitando de la intervención del médico veterinario, tratamientos convencionales se han utilizado a lo largo de la historia dentro de ellos fármacos antinflamatorios, sustancias irritantes, glicosaminoglicanos los cuales no han demostrado sus beneficios a largo plazo, cuando el animal es sometido a un esfuerzo competitivo.
