One of the most important sociologists of our time; advisor to the truth commission, who spoke on "the decolonization of knowledge and reinvention of power in times of pandemic"; therefore, I will address one of the theses presented by Professor Boaventura about the weight of history, thus, contextualize it in the national reality. The weight of history is variable, there are periods in which history is heavy and in others light.El pasado 11 de octubre, en calidad de presidente del Sistema Universitario Estatal participé en el “ XIII Congreso Internacional Historia de la Educación Latinoamericana”; evento organizado por la Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia en la conferencia del maestro Boaventura de Sousa Santos. Uno de los sociólogos más importantes de nuestro tiempo; asesor de la comisión de la verdad, quien disertó sobre “la descolonización del saber y reinvención del poder en tiempos de pandemia”; por ello, abordaré una de las tesis expuestas por el profesor Boaventura acerca del peso de la historia, de esa forma, contextualizarla en la realidad nacional.
