description The objective of the article is to analyze the influence of educational reforms at a global level and their impact on public policies. An analytical-descriptive methodology based on documentary sources, review of books and articles in recognized databases and reports of international organizations on education in Latin America is used. It can be inferred that, during the last thirty years, state public policies significantly intervene in the educational field, ensuring adequate quality, expanding coverage, research, however, these are influenced by multilateral organizations, through underlying conditioning of the need of use of exogenous financial credits, a reality that leads to the progressive sacrifice of the real meaning and identity of education.

Se emplea una metodología analítico-descriptiva basada en fuentes documentales, revisión de libros y artículos en bases de datos reconocidas e informes de organizaciones internacionales sobre la educación en América Latina. Se puede inferir que, durante los últimos treinta años, las políticas públicas estatales intervienen significativamente el campo educativo procurando la calidad adecuada, ampliación de cobertura, investigación; sin embargo, estas son influenciadas por organismos multilaterales, a través de condicionamientos subyacentes de la necesidad de uso de créditos financieros exógenos, realidad que conduce al progresivo sacrificio sobre el real sentido e identidad de la educación.O objetivo do artigo é analisar a influência das reformas educacionais ao nível global e seu impacto nas políticas públicas. Foi utilizada uma metodologia analítico-descritiva baseada em fontes documentais, revisão de livros e artigos em bases de dados reconhecidas e relatórios de orga- nismos internacionais sobre educação na América Latina.
