This article analyzes the narrative structure of the novel Distant Star, by Roberto Bolaño, from the theory of complexity and from the philosophical concept of Rhizome. The stories of the novel are understood as plateaus that are connected like rhizomes or that interact in a complex system to give meaning to the work. The article begins with a synthesis of the story, then relates the concepts of complexity and rhizome, and finally presents the plateaus and interconnections created by Bolaño in the novel. It is concluded that Distant Star can be read in a linear way, following the trail of the antagonist; or in a rhizomic way, without beginning or end, but with a variety of plateaus, intertextualities and stories that are slightly connected. Wieder becomes a point without end, and like the novel, a rhizome in the universe of Bolaño's work. |

El artículo inicia con una síntesis de la historia, luego relaciona los conceptos de complejidad y rizoma, y finalmente presentan las mesetas y las interconexiones creadas por Bolaño en la novela. Se concluye que Estrella distante se puede leer de forma lineal, siguiendo el rastro del antagonista; o de manera rizomática, sin principio ni final, sino con una variedad de mesetas, intertextualidades e historias que se conectan ligeramente. Wieder se convierte en un punto sin final, y al igual que la novela, en un rizoma en el universo de la obra de Bolaño.Este artigo analisa a estrutura narrativa do romance Estrela distante, de Roberto Bolaño, a partir da teoria da complexidade e do conceito filosófico de Rizoma. As histórias do romance são entendidas como platôs que se conectam como rizomas ou que interagem em um sistema complexo para dar sentido à obra. O artigo começa com uma síntese da história, logo depois relaciona os conceitos de complexidade e rizoma e, por fim, apresenta os platôs e as interconexões criadas por Bolaño no romance. Conclui-se que Estrela distante pode ser lido de forma linear, seguindo o rastro do antagonista; ou de forma rizomática, sem começo nem fim, mas com uma variedade de platôs, intertextualidades e histórias que se conectam levemente.
