The defense of water and of the territory in the Sumapaz river basin is manifested as an expression of community resilience, to the extent that it demonstrates the appropriation that communities have of water and socio-environmental conflicts in their territory; situation that manages to empower them as agents of change. Therefore, the main objective of this article is to analyze the water defense processes that occurred in the Sumapaz river basin in the period between 2012 and 2017, in relation to oil exploitation and hydroelectric power generation projects; from community resilience. The methodology was based on the documentary review of historical context and recent events and the application of semi-structured interviews to key actors. The research showed the existence of a collective self-esteem, a social cohesion and a cultural identity as fundamental pillars that intertwine and support community resilience in the basin territory. |

Por tanto, el objetivo central de este artículo es analizar los procesos de defensa del agua, acontecidos en la cuenca del río Sumapaz en el periodo comprendido entre los años 2012 – 2017, en relación con los proyectos de explotación petrolera y de generación de energía hidroeléctrica; desde la resiliencia comunitaria. La metodología se basó en la revisión documental del contexto histórico y los eventos recientes y la aplicación de entrevistas semiestructuradas a actores clave. La investigación evidenció la existencia de una autoestima colectiva, una cohesión social y una identidad cultural como pilares fundamentales que se entrelazan y dan soporte a la resiliencia comunitaria en el territorio de la cuenca.A defesa da água e do território na bacia do rio Sumapaz se manifesta como uma expressão de resiliência comunitária, na medida em que demonstra a apropriação que as comunidades têm dos conflitos hídricos e socioambientais em seu território; situação que consegue capacitá-los como agentes de mudança. Portanto, o objetivo principal deste artigo é analisar os processos de defesa hídrica ocorridos na bacia do rio Sumapaz no período de 2012 a 2017, em relação à exploração de petróleo e projetos de geração de energia hidrelétrica; da resiliência da comunidade.
