En primer lugar, se refiere al Fedón, en el cual se presta atención al lugar que ocupa la muerte en la reflexión filosófica y a las motivaciones que existen para hacer filosofía; la apuesta es promover una lectura alternativa de este texto que destaque el interés por la vida misma. Posteriormente, la pregunta por cómo es la mejor forma de vivir lleva a tratar la filosofía como terapia. A continuación, a partir del Banquete se revisa la noción de la filosofía como forma de vida y su relación con la escalera del amor presentada por Diotima de Mantinea.ABSTRACT: The development of this article intends to demonstrate that philosophy does not promote rejection of the body nor a desire for death, but a life practice. Such thesis is mainly supported by The Symposium and Phaedo* dialogues. To meet the objective, Phaedo will be first referenced. The role that death occupies will be the focus in this part as well as the motivation to philosophize. The purpose is to promote an alternative reading of this text, which highlights interest in life itself. Afterwards, the questions about what the best way to live is will lead us to consider philosophy as a therapy.
