The primary technique is the documentary review, belonging to the qualitative approach, which provides greater depth and interpretative richness to the information obtained. The results include the definition of the main themes, methods, and geographic approaches that have guided the theses and dissertations published by the EPG, which, to a certain extent, reflect the interests and concerns of geography in Colombia between 1984–2019. This type of historiographic work contributes to systematizing local experiences in the discipline. |

This type of historiographic work contributes to systematizing local experiences in the discipline.En el artículo se reconstruye la trayectoria del Programa de Estudios de Posgrado en Geografía (EPG), producto del convenio establecido entre la Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC) y el Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi (IGAC), a partir del análisis de los trabajos de grado y tesis desarrollados al interior del EPG. Se tomó como principal técnica la revisión documental, perteneciente al enfoque cualitativo, que otorga una mayor profundidad y riqueza interpretativa a la información obtenida. Entre los resultados alcanzados destacan la definición de las principales temáticas, metodologías y enfoques geográficos que han orientado los trabajos de grado publicados por el EPG y que, en cierta medida, llegan a reflejar los intereses y preocupaciones de la disciplina geográfica colombiana en el periodo de estudio 1984-2019. Este tipo de trabajos de carácter historiográfico contribuyen a la sistematización de experiencias que se han venido gestando en nuestro país en el campo geográfico.No artigo reconstrói-se a trajetória do Programa de estudos de Pós-Graduação em Geografia (EPG), fruto do convênio estabelecido entre a Universidad Pedagógica e Tecnológica da Colômbia (UPTC) e o Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi (IGAC), a partir da análise dos trabalhos de licenciatura e teses desenvolvidas a o interior do EPG. Tomou-se como técnica principal a revisão documental, pertencente à abordagem qualitativa, que proporciona uma maior profundidade e riqueza interpretativa à informação obtida. Entre os resultados alcançados, destacam a definição dos principais temas, metodologias e abordagens geográficas que têm orientado os trabalhos de grau publicados pelo EPG e que, em certa medida, alcançam a refletir os interesses e preocupações da disciplina geográfica colombiana no período de estudo 1984-2019.
