This article documents and interprets the uses of the past unfolded during the dictatorship established from 1955 in Argentina, after the fall of Peronism. The analytical perspective involves observing the way in which the past ended up being a key resource in the legitimation of a new political order and the characterization of enemies, in order to offer new interpretations of history, rescuing, as well as resignifying, the heroes of the national past. The study is oriented from a speciically local perspective, investigating the discourses, practices and representations of the past that can be found in the city of Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina during the political process that sought to “deperonize” the public space and restore the liberal matrix of the country´s political and historical culture. The methodology involved the exegesis of journalistic primary resources, qualitatively characterizing the discursivity of the time period. As a result of the analytic study of the uses of the past found, it is possible to observe how the different key agents of ríocuartense politics, culture and education, established a series of cognitive, argumentative and symbolic uses of the past, in order to accomplish the task of sculpting social memory for the new political order: attemping to reestablish the memory of the liberal nation, in pedagogical and intense opposition to Peronism. |

La perspectiva analítica asumida propone observar el modo en que el pasado resultó ser un recurso clave para legitimar un nuevo orden político y para caracterizar a los enemigos en vistas de ofrecer nuevas interpretaciones de la historia y rescatar, a la vez que resignificar, a los próceres del pasado nacional. El trabajo se centra en una mirada específicamente local, investigando acerca de los discursos, las prácticas y las representaciones del pasado desplegadas en la ciudad de Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina, en oportunidad del proceso político que buscó «desperonizar» el espacio público y restaurar la matriz liberal de la cultura política e histórica del país. La metodología empleada se basa, fundamentalmente, la exegesis de fuentes primarias, de corte periodístico, recuperando cualitativamente la discursividad de época. Como resultante del ejercicio analítico de los usos del pasado examinados, es posible observar cómo distintos actores claves de la política, la cultura y la educación riocuartense pusieron en marcha una serie de recursos cognitivos, argumentativos y simbólicos del pasado, para sobrellevar la tarea de forjar memoria merced al nuevo orden político: procurando la reactualización de la memoria de la nación liberal para contraponer pedagógica e intensamente al peronismo.Cet article se propose de documenter et d’interpréter les manières dont le passé a été instrumentalisé par la dictature instaurée depuis 1955 en Argentine, après la chute du péronisme. La perspective analytique adoptée cherche à étudier la façon dont le passé est devenu une ressource clédans la légitimation du nouvel ordre politique et dans la caractérisation des ennemis dans l’espoir d’offrir de nouvelles interprétations de l’histoire et de récupérer, et de proposer à la fois des nouvelles signiications, à propos des pères de la patrie. La recherche s’intéresse particulièrement par les discours, les pratiques et les représentations du passé déployés dans la ville de Río Cuarto, appartenant à laprovince de Cordoba, en Argentine, lorsque l’on cherchait à « dépéronniser » l’espace public et à restaurer la matrice libérale de la culture politique et historique du pays. La méthodologie employée consiste, surtout, dans l’exégèse de sources primaires, en l’occurrence de journaux, dont on cherche à récupérer la discursivité de l’époque.
