This article presents a reflection on the imaginaries and symbolism present in some artistic creations (literature, visualand film) about the recent violence in Colombia, in which the Magdalena River has been a protagonist and in which can be seen the persistence of memories in the beliefs and representations of the riverside populations. Four aesthetic productions are analyzed that emphasize the river and the presence therein of spiritual and mythological beings in the discussed narrative corpus in order to recognise the metaphors and symbolismpresent in the literary and audiovisual narratives regarding political violence. This makes it possible to make an interpretive account with reference to the conceptual perspective of symbolic imagination. |

Se analizan cuatro producciones estéticas que enfatizan en los ríos y la presencia en ellos de seres espirituales y mitológicos en el corpus narrativo abordado, en clave de reconocer las metáforas, simbolismos presentes en las narrativas literarias y audiovisuales en torno a la violencia política. Esto permite hacer un balance interpretativo con referencia a la perspectiva conceptual de la imaginación simbólica.Cet article présente une réflexion sur l'imaginaire et le symbolisme présents dans certaines créations artistiques(littéraires, visuelles et cinématographiques) sur la violence récente en Colombie, dont la rivière Magdalena a été la protagoniste et dans laquelle on peut voir la persistance des mémoires dans les croyances et les représentations des populations riveraines. Quatre productions esthétiques qui mettent l'accent sur les fleuves et la présence en eux d'êtresspirituels et mythologiques dans le corpus narratif abordé sont analysées ici afin de reconnaître les métaphores et lessymbolismes présents dans les récits littéraires et audiovisuels autour de la violence politique.
