The case of the representation of the Villa Imperial de Potosí is paradigmatic in this subject as it generated an iconography that passed from therepresentation of its hill like generator of structures class/ race to its union with the virgin. Here two works of the city built in the irst half of the 18th century are studied -after the decay of the economy of one of the greatest cities of the world at that time - that in addition are found in Spanish public collections, to try at the time how thisdimension of unit between body and territory articulates within them. To inish, some expositive contexts are shown in which the same ones have been presented andpossible alternatives to think the curatorial activation and criticism of these images.Desde las imágenes de alegorías y de geografías desconocidas, la representación del territorio americano se realiza de forma imbricada con el cuerpo en un particular tipo de erótica-política. El caso de la representación de la Villa Imperial de Potosí resulta paradigmática en este asunto en cuanto generó una iconografía que pasó de la representación de su cerro como generador de estructuras de clase/raza a su unión con la virgen. Aquí se estudian dos obras de la ciudad realizadas en la primera mitad del siglo XVIII – tras la decadencia de la economía de una de las ciudades más grande del mundo en su momento – que además se encuentran en colecciones públicas españolas, para ensayar cómo se articula en ellas esta dimensión de unidad entre cuerpo y territorio.
