For some time, we have been witnessing a resurgence in the use of the past to legitimize exclusionary identitarian discourses as well as imaginary and often apocalyptic narratives about the world. The expansion of cultural relativism even reaches science denialism. The present article analyzes some recent cases of confronted, re-written or conflict-themed narratives, and connections are made with the discourses of historiography from its controversial theories and methodologies. The potential of history as a social science to refute historicist doctrinal constructions that attempt to legitimize the structures and the hegemonic relationships of power is shown. It is argued how history, as a social science, builds methodical, and therefore, critical knowledge, and it is concluded that said knowledge limits ideological preconceptions and dismantles the arbitrariness of the organic narratives that manipulate, decontextualize and twist the past, to the extent of denaturing and mythicizing it. |

La expansión del relativismo cultural llega, incluso, hasta el negacionismo científico. En el presente artículo se analizan algunos casos recientes de relatos confrontados, reescritos o sobre conflictos y se ponen en relación con los discursos por la historiografía desde sus controversias teóricas y metodológicas. Se pone en evidencia el potencial de la historia como ciencia social para refutar las construcciones doctrinales historicistas que pretenden legitimar las estructuras y las relaciones de poder hegemónicas. Se argumenta cómo la historia como ciencia social construye un conocimiento metódico, por tanto, crítico, y se concluye que dicho conocimiento limita los apriorismos ideológicos y desmonta las arbitrariedades de los relatos orgánicos que manipulan, descontextualizan y tergiversan el pasado hasta desnaturalizarlo y mitificarlo. De nos jours, il est devenu de plus en plus fréquent de faire usage du passé afin de légitimer des discours identitaires d’exclusion ainsi que des récits imaginaires et très souvent catastrophistes sur le monde. Le succès du relativisme culturel sert même au négationnisme scientifique. Cet article se propose d’analyser quelques cas récents mettant en scène des récits confrontés, réécrits ou bien portant sur des conflits liés aux discours historiographiques et ses querelles théoriques et méthodologiques. En outre, on veut montrer la puissance de l’histoire en tant que science sociale lorsqu’il s’agit de contredire certaines constructions doctrinales prétendant légitimer les structures et les rapports de pouvoir hégémoniques.
