Enfoques inmunológicos como ELISA mejoran la sensibilidad. Una investigación en Boavita, Boyacá, encontró una seroprevalencia del 72.96%, mayor en ovinos (84.62%) que en caprinos (70.40%). Razas como Alpina y Nubiana en caprinos, y Camura en ovinos, mostraron asociación estadística con la seropositividad. La presencia de caracoles está vinculada a la enfermedad. Este conocimiento epidemiológico informa sobre la dinámica de transmisión y guía estrategias de manejo y control.

Técnicas de diagnóstico tradicionales tienen limitaciones, retrasando la detección. Enfoques inmunológicos como ELISA mejoran la sensibilidad. Una investigación en Boavita, Boyacá, encontró una seroprevalencia del 72.96%, mayor en ovinos (84.62%) que en caprinos (70.40%). Razas como Alpina y Nubiana en caprinos, y Camura en ovinos, mostraron asociación estadística con la seropositividad. La presencia de caracoles está vinculada a la enfermedad.
