In the first section, I present a profiling work aimed to identify main areas of research in Language Teacher Education, where identity emerges as an important concern for different scholars (Barkhuizen, 2017; Da Costa & Norton, 2017; Golombek & Klager, 2015; Norton, 2013). The analysis indicates that NEST/NNEST dichotomy, pre-service teachers, identity work, and critical theory appear as main trends in ELTE’s identity. Nevertheless, this literature review also attempts to make visible an area of research work that has not been widely explored in an explicit way namely the subject constitution of ELTEs.application/pdfengspaUniversidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombiahttps://revistas.uptc.edu.co/index.php/enletawa_journal/article/view/14106/11502Copyright (c) 2022 Enletawa Journalhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Enletawa Journal; Vol. 14 No. 2 (2021): Enletawa JournalEnletawa Journal; Vol. 14 Núm. 2 (2021): Enletawa Journal2463-19652011-835XeducationEnglish Language Teacheridentitysubject constitutionEnglish Language Teacher Education and Subject Constitution: A State of the Artinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1Davila Rubio, Alejandro Mauricio001/16151oai:repositorio.uptc.edu.co:001/161512025-07-18 11:15:16.91metadata.onlyhttps://repositorio.uptc.edu.coRepositorio Institucional UPTCrepositorio.uptc@uptc.edu.co
