This tourism is one of the activities that promote social, economic and environmental development that requires partnerships between the groups of involved agents, in order to give life to the principles of sustainability. This article presents the main features of certification stamps in sustainable processes and the guidelines of the Colombian regulations applicable to the tourist program “The braid of the Tenza Valley”.En un contexto global, el turismo sostenible, según Londoño (2010), satisface las expectativas de los visitantes y de los diversos actores sociales en los destinos, a la vez que potencializa sus oportunidades en el futuro. Este turismo se plantea como una de las actividades promotoras de desarrollo social, económico y ambiental, que requiere establecer asociaciones entre los distintos grupos de agentes involucrados en el ejercicio, a fin de dar vida a los principios de sustentabilidad. Las iniciativas de certificación en sostenibilidad abren el camino de la interacción mancomunada de la comunidad con las organizaciones que actúan en la actividad turística. Los objetivos generales de certificación y de ecoetiquetas son implementados, en su mayoría, por las empresas (principalmente de alojamiento y gastronomía) de forma particular.
