description This work aims to develop a comparative education model and apply it to the state of the art of educommunication development in Venezuela and Colombia. The categories analyzed were: the legislative framework, the works of authors related to the educommunicative theme, the institutions that develop and promote educommunication, events with educommunicative impact and teacher training related to media education.The article is based on the information gathered by two groups of researchers from both countries whose results are part of the book Media Education in Latin America. From the results obtained, three challenges for the development of educommunication are presented: the connection in the region's initiatives, the practical implementation of media education plans and the recognition of most of the States on the educommunicative development for the prevention of media impacts.

Las categorías analizadas fueron: el marco legislativo, los trabajos de autores relacionados al tema educomunicativo, las instituciones que desarrollan e impulsan la educomunicación, eventos con impacto educomunicativo y la formación docente relacionada a la educación mediática.El artículo se realizó con base en la información recopilada por dos grupos de investigadores de ambos países cuyos resultados forman parte del libro Media Education in Latin America. A partir de los resultados obtenidos se presentan tres retos para el desarrollo de la educomunicación: la conexión en las iniciativas de la región, la implementación práctica de los planes de educación en medios y el reconocimiento de la mayoría de los Estados sobre el desarrollo educomunicativo para la prevención de los impactos mediáticos. L'objectif de cet essai est de présenter une étude d'éducation comparée, centrée sur les développements pédagogiques du Venezuela et de la Colombie, basée sur un modèle d'analyse développé à cet effet, et les recherches menées par deux groupes de chercheurs des deux pays, dont Les résultats font partie du livre Education aux médias en Amérique latine.Este trabalho visa desenvolver um modelo de educação comparativa e aplicá-lo ao estado da arte no desenvolvimento da educomunicação na Venezuela e na Colômbia. As categorias analisadas foram: o quadro legislativo, os trabalhos de autores relacionados com o tema educomunicativo, as instituições que desenvolvem e promovem a educomunicação, eventos com impacto educomunicativo e formação de professores relacionados com a educação mediática.O artigo baseia-se em informações recolhidas por dois grupos de investigadores de ambos os países, cujos resultados fazem parte do livro "Media Education in Latin America".
