This article presents some reflections on the involvement of women as users and providers of tourism services in protected areas and highlights the importance of female travelers as a growing segment of the market. It also delves into the experience of female travel, analyzing its motivations and impact on the inequalities in the use of space. Considering that protected areas in the country are frequently inhabited by marginalized and vulnerable communities—either because of the armed conflict or because of limited opportunities—, the article emphasizes the importance of women’s work in the ecotourism sector and its multiplier effect on the well-being of local communities. In addition, it proposes a scenario of gender-oriented ecotourism promotion from a local construction perspective, in which ecotourism potential is combined with the skills and strengths of all local actors as a whole. Using a qualitative, non-experimental, and exploratory methodological approach, a literature review is carried out, including institutional documents and research on the management of ecotourism in protected areas; its social, economic and environmental implications; and the participation of women in tourism services, both as providers and users. |

Así mismo, se explora la experiencia del viaje femenino y se analizan las motivaciones y la incidencia de esta sobre las desigualdades en el uso del espacio. Considerando que las áreas protegidas son zonas del país donde es frecuente que las comunidades habitantes se encuentren marginadas y en condición de vulnerabilidad, ya sea a causa del conflicto armado o de la escasez de oportunidades, aquí se destaca la importancia del trabajo femenino en el sector ecoturístico y su efecto multiplicador en el bienestar de las comunidades locales. Además, se propone un escenario de fomento al ecoturismo con enfoque de género, soportado en una visión de construcción local, donde el potencial ecoturístico se combine con las habilidades y las fortalezas de todos los actores locales en conjunto. En esta línea, este artículo de reflexión se construyó a partir de un enfoque metodológico cualitativo, no experimental y exploratorio, en el que se realizó una revisión bibliográfica en la cual se indagó por documentos institucionales e investigaciones dedicadas al estudio de elementos como el manejo de ecoturismo en áreas protegidas y sus implicaciones sociales, económicas y ambientales, así como la participación de las mujeres en el turismo, bien sea como oferentes o como demandantes de los servicios turísticos.Neste artigo são apresentadas algumas reflexões sobre a participação das mulheres como reclamantes e prestadores de serviços turísticos em áreas protegidas e destaca-se a importância das mulheres viajantes como segmento crescente do mercado. Do mesmo modo, a experiência das viagens femininas é explorada em sentido profundo, analisando as motivações e a incidência disso nas desigualdades no uso do espaço. Considerando que as áreas protegidas são áreas do país onde as comunidades são frequentemente marginalizadas e em condições vulneráveis, seja por causa do conflito armado ou por falta de oportunidades, é de salientar a importância do trabalho das mulheres no setor de ecoturismo e seu efeito multiplicador no bem-estar das comunidades locais. Além disso, propõe-se um cenário de promoção do ecoturismo com uma abordagem de gênero, com base em uma visão de construção local, onde o potencial de ecoturismo é combinado com as habilidades e os pontos fortes de todos os atores locais como um todo.
