This investigation made for the first time in Cuba, shows that the dunites are common material reserves that they are used traditionally, but that in the future can be exhausted in the future.La dunita es una roca básica formada principalmente por silicatos magnesíticos  (dunitas serpentinizadas)  y  está distribuida en la región de Moa (Holguín, Cuba). En este trabajo  se  propone  la  utilización  de  las  dunitas  como pintura  antiadherente  y  como  arena  de moldeo  y  para machos, teniendo en cuenta los resultados alcanzados en las diferentes pruebas realizadas a escala industrial en el taller de  fundición de  la Unión del Níquel en Moa.
