In so doing, I address the current state of the theory of history and the persistence of ontological realism as the dominant mode of thought for conventional historians. I instead advocate a hauntological approach to history that follows the work of Jacques Derrida and embraces a past that is at once present and absent, available and restricted, polysemic and multiple, rather than a fixed and static snapshot of a moment in time.  El texto se basa en los planteamientos del libro Haunting History, que pretende articular una noción deconstructiva del pasado que inquieta al presente, como un fantasma. Se aborda el estado actual de la teoría de la historia y la persistencia del realismo ontológico como el modo de pensamiento dominante entre los historiadores convencionales. Frente a esto, se propone un enfoque hauntológico de la historia que se desliga del trabajo de Jacques Derrida, que reconoce la presencia del pasado y su articulación con el presente, ausente, disponible y restringido, polisémico y múltiple, y que no es una instantánea, fija y estática de un momento en el tiempo.Ce texte a comme point de départ le livre Haunting History, dans lequel on prétend faire avancer une notion déconstructive du passé comme ce qui inquiète le présent, tel un fantasme. On analyse ici l’état actuel de la théorie de l’histoire ainsi que la persistance du réalisme ontologique comme mode de pensée dominant parmi les historiens les plus conventionnels.
