Emphasizes the worship of the natives to the law, and includes the Colombian constitutional tradition, which is inscribed, as in the rest of Latin America, lack of commitment to history and the adoption of models from elsewhere, especially France and the United States. Finally, a relection on the possible adoption of the “coloniality of remembering.”El artículo, dentro del paradigma de la modernidad/colonialidad, empieza por indagar el significado que asumió la historia para la generación de Independencia y se remonta a examinar el papel que le correspondió a la tendencia de los llamados constitucionalistas históricos en los reclamos que formularon los criollos como respuesta a la crisis suscitada en España a partir de 1808. Subraya el culto de los criollos hacia la legalidad, y recoge la tradición constitucional colombiana, la cual se inscribe, como en el resto de Latinoamérica, en la falta de compromiso con la historia y en la adopción de modelos provenientes de otras latitudes,especialmente de Francia y de  Estados Unidos.
