From the theoretical frame we attempt toreflex upon the barriers of learning and the findings of a research conducted in twomajor organizations of the industrial sector and services respectively in Medellin,Colombia. The conclusions will motivate interested people such as entrepreneurs,instructors or investigators, to formulate strategies to allow organizations to havepossession of relevant knowledge in order to build competitive advantages.El aprendizaje organizacional o la organización abierta al aprendizajees un tema ampliamente documentado del cual las organizacionesempiezan a tomar conciencia y a emprender acciones para su aplicación.Uno de los aspectos relevantes del aprendizaje organizacional, y del cualno se han obtenido desarrollos similares a la de la propuesta general, eslo relacionado con las barreras para el aprendizaje. Se busca plantear unareflexión a partir del marco teórico investigado sobre el tema de barreraspara el aprendizaje y correlacionarlo con los hallazgos de la investigaciónaplicada a dos organizaciones significativas del sector industrial y deservicios de la ciudad de Medellín, Colombia.
