Entender el patrimonio como una herramienta del desarrollo social es fundamental y más aun imprescindible para evitar que el patrimonio sea visto solo como un acto de memoria. Igualmente importante es entender el desarrollo social desde una visión que integre los elementos identitarios y culturales de un grupo social evitando caer erradamente solo en aspectos económicos. La valoración patrimonial no es el fin en sí mismo, sino que a través de ella una sociedad puede lograr reconocer su capacidad creativa y transformadora para promover su propio desarrollo. Es importante en este contexto reconocer que el patrimonio se crea cotidianamente en la apropiación y uso de sus espacios, siendo el centro histórico, como espacio público por excelencia uno de los más importantes en las ciudades.Palabras Clave: Centros Históricos, Patrimonio, Desarrollo SocialAbstract Urban patrimonial heritage should be understood as a fundamental instrument of social development. It plays an integral role in describing heritage as much more tan simple collective memory. Social development is seen as integrating diverse elements of identity and culture of a social group, instead of mistakenly reducing it exclusively to economic aspects.Patrimonial heritage does not consist in a value on its own, but rather should be understood as a means for society to recognize and internalize its own creative and transformative capabilities to foster their social and economic development. It is argued that in this context, patrimonial heritage is recreated in processes of appropriation and use of urban space. Historic urban centres as, an essential public space, plays a of fundamental role within the context of cities.Key Words: Historical Centres, Heritage, Social Development. |
