Summary: | Packaging is a fundamental part of the success of products, mainly those belonging to the alimentary area. Tu Paleta, a company dedicated to the fabrication and commercialization of handcrafted pop ice, aims to launch its products to the market; however, it lacks of a packaging and a logo that identify the brand. To solve this, the Design of engineering stage was applied to provide Tu Paleta with an integral solution through the design of a packaging that takes down its deficiencies within its current system, in protection of shape and taste of the product; also an innovative character that provides customers and sellers with benefits in terms of handling, storage and consumption of the product. The design developed has a closing adjusting system that prevents the pop ice from being contaminated by external agents and other flavors; besides it incorporates a canalization system of residues, produced by the melting of the ice pop while the former is being consumed, that prevents the customers from getting into hand contact with the waste of the product. Polyethylene of high density was proposed as the packaging material because it provides guarantee of protection of the shape of the product and easier handling and storage. Some important limitations throughout the creation of solutions were the actual interest of the company to preserve the current shape of the pop ice, the need to minimally modify its current production system and the environmental impact that the solution proposed would generate. It is hoped that by the implementation of the proposed design, the company will reduce significantly both the unconformities presented and the reported devolutions; achieving a minimization of costs and a positive projection of the company. When it comes to the customers and sellers it is also hoped that the product will obtain acceptance in the target market due to the applied improvements and also that some existing barriers to get into the market will be diminished. |
