Summary: | People who suffered a stroke usually have difficulty performing movements with their limbs, physiotherapy sessions are done for recovery. Conventional therapies are performed with a physiotherapist who helps the patient perform limb movements. This project sought to create a robotic orthosis that supports the work of the physiotherapist during therapy sessions. For this project the use of the orthosis is designed for the flexion and extension movements of the elbow. In addition, the movement of the brace is limited by the servomotor, whereby an electromyography signal acquisition system (EMG), accelerometer and gyroscope data were built, in which a servo motor control system based on EMG signals and arm movement data was implemented, which controls the therapy method through a user interface where you can visualize the data that is being taken in real time. A save button was added to the interface, which saves the data both locally and in the cloud on a database. This in order to be able to observe and analyze the data from any device through a web page. Although this also implies that it must have an active internet connection to be able to import the data when saving and consulting them. The orthosis was tested with different patients from the Universidad del Norte hospital and the Metropolitan University Hospital Foundation, The tests with patients were developed in the presence of physiotherapists who were satisfied with the operation of the orthosis and it was possible to observe a relationship between the angle of the arm and the force exerted on the muscle. |
