Themethodology included elaboration of the state-of-the-art, revision and analysis of theprotocols of the Notary’s office First of Sincelejo, as well as of animated sources. Theused methods were the description, the analysis, the synthesis and the hermeneutics. InSincelejo, the most important economic activity was the cattle ranch, the only exportingactivity. Also they stood out the commerce of merchandise, the banking, fluvial andeducative activity. In the industry two companies were very common: aguardiente andthe usury.El artículo tiene como objetivo describir e interpretar la historia empresarialde Sincelejo entre los años 1920 – 1935, en lo referente a sus actividadesempresariales, su orientación empresarial, los períodos de auge y de crisis, losempresarios más relevantes y las empresas más significativas. La metodologíacomprendió las fases de elaboración del estado del arte, revisión y análisisde los protocolos de la Notaría Primera de Sincelejo, así como de fuentesanimadas. Los métodos utilizados fueron la descripción, el análisis, la síntesisy la hermenéutica. En Sincelejo, la actividad económica más importante fuela ganadería, única actividad exportadora. También se destacaron el comerciode mercancías, la actividad bancaria, fluvial y educativa. En la industria sedestacaron dos empresas.
