Summary:This research focused on Latin-American countries belonging to the GEM,(the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor), a research organization. The principalobjective of this research is to correlate the main database contents in order to obtainempirical evidence about the variables affecting the level of entrepreneurial activityin the region during 2006. The analysis of data and reports serve as groundworkto calculate the main indicator, the TEA (total entrepreneurship activity) of theLatin-American region. This study is guided only to elaborate an initial diagnosisfor Latin-America through the GEM model. The results and conclusions allowto appreciate the present and future weaknesses and strengths of the region for theyears of 2006 through 2030.
