Assessing transportation networks vulnerability for the decision making in humanitarian logistics

An interruption of humanitarian relief supply chains at the short-term emergency stage increases the human suffering (deprivation costs) resulting from the lack of access to essential goods or services. These costs are generally not considered in the mathematical formulations used for assessing vulnerability in transportation networks, which can lead to inappropriate strategies for humanitarian assistance. Consequently, in this doctoral thesis a vulnerability assessment model for the development of high impact humanitarian logistics operations is presented. The model is based on an economic analysis that involves both the logistical costs of humanitarian distribution operations and the deprivation cots derived from the delays in the provision of basic supplies.application/pdfengUniversidad del NorteDoctorado en Ingeniería CivilDepartamento de Ingeniería CivilTransporte terrestre -- Modelos matemáticosDesastres naturalesIngeniería del transporteAssessing transportation networks vulnerability for the decision making in humanitarian logisticsdoctoralThesisacceptedVersionhttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_db06http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2ORIGINALluisfernando.pdfluisfernando.pdfapplication/pdf3019259http://172.16.14.36:8080/bitstream/10584/7460/1/luisfernando.pdf344c62e2c2f95469dfc4b20aeb97fdeeMD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-81748http://172.16.14.36:8080/bitstream/10584/7460/2/license.txt8a4605be74aa9ea9d79846c1fba20a33MD5210584/7460oai:172.16.14.36:10584/74602017-08-18 15:17:25.003Repositorio Digital de la Universidad del Nortemauribe@uninorte.edu.co
