In this article, we carry out a study of theunmarried couple present-day judicial framework fromthe point of view of the statutes, the case law and theliterature. On the one hand, we analyse the regulationof the autonomous regions in Spain, to emphasize theirresemblances and their differences; on the other hand,we made a critical regard to the State legislative passivityand, finally, we described the main jurisprudential lines onthis subject and we propose the recognition to unmarriedcouples of certain effects that are legally recognised tomarried couples by means of analogy.
