Summary: | The following article points out some practices of the warlaw of nations, developed within the context of Latin American independence process. It describes some of the instruments, conventions or treaties signed between the belligerents, those who directly contributed, not only, to humanize the conflict itself, but also those who laid the foundations for what, with the passage of time, would be the Humanitarian Law. It also constitutes an important chapter, somewhat unknown to the military history of the period, taken from a perspective that transcends mere epic, less willing to highlight the personal glories to delve into the construction of a rational and reasona ble humanity even in the midst of barbarism of the armed conflict. |
