description Los psicodélicos son un símbolo de la posmodernidad. El mayor interés por ellos en diferentes etapas de la historia de las sociedades modernas refleja valores antagónicos a los que llevaron a su prohibición. Mediante una revisión teórica, se establece una relación entre la construcción de los discursos sociales centrados en las potencialidades positivas de los psicodélicos y unos valores posmaterialistas vinculados al individualismo expresivo, en tanto que la construcción del discurso prohibicionista está asociada a una moral conservadora y a un individualismo materialista y pragmático. Las revoluciones psicodélicas que se manifiestan en la ciencia y en la sociedad se encuentran profundamente influidas por este cambio de valores.

Las revoluciones psicodélicas que se manifiestan en la ciencia y en la sociedad se encuentran profundamente influidas por este cambio de valores.Psychedelics are a symbol of Postmodernity. The increased interest in them at different stages in the history of modern societies reflects values antagonistic to those that led to their prohibition. Through a theoretical review, the construction of social discourses focused on the positive potential of psychedelics is related to post-materialist values and expressive individualism, while the construction of the prohibitionist discourse is associated with conservative morality and materialistic and pragmatic individualism.
