Investigación: un nodo teorético del diseño

El núcleo o nodo teorético del diseño se centra en el entendimiento de la investigación no sólo como actividad externa o voluntariosa al diseño mismo, sino en su inherencia en la esencialidad del acto procesual que éste representa. En síntesis, la investigación en diseño presupone una doble interpretación: aquella que parte de la naturaleza misma de su práctica cuyo umbral se representa en la idea seminal de designar algo; y la convencional de intervenir desde/sobre el acto de diseñar o el producto para reaccionar críticamente acerca de algunos de sus significados en la cultura de su tiempo. Ambos sentidos, se manifiestan en la trama cognitiva de su episteme describiendo la no linealidad de su pensamiento así como la trascendencia de su campo de conocimiento y diversidad de prácticas. La investigación sobre el diseño en sí, por otra parte e independientemente de sus fines, reclama de una clara postura inicial acerca de la definición de una estancia histórica desde la cual se ubica el investigador, y en consecuencia, de la selección pertinente de un nicho instrumental teórico convergente con el objeto de estudio en cuestión.AbstractThe theoretical nucleus or node of design is centered in the understanding of research not only as an external or capricious activity to design itself but in its inherence in the essence of the evolving act it represents. In short, research in design supposes a double interpretation: that part of the very nature of its practice whose threshold is represented in the seminal idea of appointing something and the conventional idea of intervening from/on the act of designing or the product to critically react about some of its meanings in the culture of its time. Both senses express in the cognitive plot of its episteme describing the nonlinearity of its thought as well as the transcendence of its field of knowledge and diversity of practices. Research on design itself, on the other hand, and independently of its ends, claims a clear initial position about the definition of a historical stay from which the researcher is located and, as a consequence, of the pertinent selection of a theoretical instrumental niche convergent with the object of the study in question.
