Here, early in the sixteenth century, in so-called Darien, the country extending from the Chepo or Bayano River on the Pacific slope near the Canal Zone southeastward to the Atrato River on the Caribbean slope near the Colombian border, were made the first Spanish explorations and settlements. Within a few years, indeed as early as 1518, the Spanish were forced to leave Darien because of conflict with native tribes and, later, with English buccaneers and freebooters. They then established themselves at Panama City, more than 100 miles farther west along the Pacific coast.spa: El sureste de Panamá es históricamente la región más antigua de América continental. Government Printing Office, 1926.Washington, D.C.2022-06-06T13:17:50Z2022-06-06T13:17:50Z2022-06-02Artículo de revistaReferencia bibliográficahttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_86bcImageTextinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1135 p.application/pdfimage/pngapplication/pdfhttps://repositorio.ucaldas.edu.co/handle/ucaldas/17771https://repository.si.edu/handle/10088/10136?show=fulleng134Pardo, Mauricio, Bibliografía sobre Indígenas ChocóBulletin of the United States National Museumhttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Krieger, Herbert Williamoai:repositorio.ucaldas.edu.co:ucaldas/177712024-07-16T21:37:32Z |
